Jannie Lam: Bio
Jannie’s
professional life experience spans thirty years working with thousands of
clients all over the world. She has used her talents as an internationally
trained hairstylist, manager, and life coach to bring out the external and
internal beauty of those she has touched.
Jannie started her training in Victoria, Canada, and went on to advance training at Vidal Sassoon in London, England. She then worked at many top salons throughout the world. Her clients range from diplomats in Berlin to tribal women in Western Samoa. Her work experience has included managing salons in Sydney, Australia and setting up the first European chain salons in China. She also built her own successful business in Berlin, where she won the Excellence in Service Award from The Berlin International Women’s Club. Jannie has also given workshops in team building and communication skill to hairstylists at Vancouver leading salon, Suki’s.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Jannie moved to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada with her family in 1972. Eight years later, Jannie decided to take six months off to explore the world beyond Victoria. She had no idea that six months would turn into twenty years.
Jannie was to discover her creative and spiritual being forged by her curiosity to travel, to learn and to see many other cultures. Her roots are Chinese, and yet, she has a diverse cultural appreciation from living and working in different countries. Her love of communicating and interacting with people is apparent to everyone she meets.
In 1998, she returned to Canada and settled in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she continues to work as a hairstylist, a lifestyle coach and a motivational workshop leader. She is also developing a select clientele in New York City.
Jannie is certified as a life coach by the Coaches Training Institute, in California and went on to complete their extensive leadership program. She is also an active member of her local Toastmasters International club.
